A big concert with the participation of Eastern spiritual music stars was the culmination of the DAIRAFEST festival and a real gift for connoisseurs of Sufi music, as well as for those who are ready to discover new horizons. Guests in the foyer of the concert hall "Colosseum" were offered oriental treats and a fair.

 

The first section of the gala concert featured bright African motifs performed by Nawal (Comoros).

 

Nawal is a singer and songwriter. Today she is the key figure representing the world the musical culture of her homeland and the UN Goodwill Ambassador in the Comoros. Some of her compositions are inspired by the zikr - traditional Sufi prayer songs, which are performed on Dair (Arabic - "circle", on the Comoros - prayer songs in a circle with a bright rhythm and movements).

 

In the second section, Ahmad Sham Sufi Qawwali band from Afghanistan performed. Performers of Sufi music of the style of Kawwali. They have gone beyond skirmishes and military conflicts, and their music is devoted to love, dedication and the man’s longing of the Divine.

 

Leader of the group is the vocalist Ahmad Sham, who has a powerful divine voice. Musicians belong to a vibrant traditional culture, which has more than 700 years.

 

Their music is moments of silence against the background of a vibrating buzz of voice, throbbing percussion and mystical poetry of the East.
